Well Tuesday was divorce court. We found out Monday night, that the egg donor was willing to drop the custody portion of the divorce. From what we know, her lawyer told her that divorce court was not the place to hash out the custody, since it was already decided in a different court. That was a really good thing for us. Our lawyer didn’t even have to talk in court. It was a big win for us. On the other hand, she can still file in Probate Court, where the original guardianship was decided. If she does file, she would be liable for court charges, her attorney fees, and a possible guardian ad litem. Which could run a few thousand dollars. Not sure if she has that kind of money. I really don’t care how much it costs, we are willing to do whatever it takes in the best interest of our little princess.
She came to court in a TIGHT purple cotton shirt, you could see more than any one person would want to see of her. DISGUSTING!! Black cotton pants that for some reason couldn’t cover her crack. Not sure why one would want to dress like that for court, but leave it to the egg donor, she did. She also brought her boyfriend to divorce court. Who does that? Brings there boyfriend to divorce court. This guy is atleast the 4th boyfriend since she moved out of my house 1 year ago, while still married to my kid.
Her attorney asked her basic questions, as they had everything settled. She asked the egg donor if there was any chance that she was pregnant, she answered no. Not sure if that’s true or not, but she sure looks like it. She asked if there was any chance that they could get back together, she said no. The judge asked the questions to my son, he asked him if there was any chance of them getting back together, his answer “aaaahhhh NO!” The look on his face was priceless!! I couldn’t help but laugh right out loud in court.
The judge granted the divorce. As we were leaving, he said he had one more thing to add, he said what an awesome job the grandparents are doing by taking on a huge responsibility of this grandchild, kudos to the grandparents. We did not expect that, it was very nice, but not necessary. We would do ANYTHING for that little girl. We just want what is in her best interest.
So we now have to just sit and wait to see if she will file in Probate court. There is no limit on the filing time. She can do it anytime within the next 15 1/2 years, which would be when our princess will be 18 years old. Our attorney said that if she does file, we would have to prove her unfit, which she said based on my journal, we wouldn’t have any trouble doing that.
We are not going to sit and dwell on whether she will file or not, we just want things to be as normal as possible for our little princess. We want to live our lives and enjoy our little princess. We will prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.
