Seriously! Some people have nerve! For some odd reason,
it’s MY fault that the egg donor doesn’t come to see our
little princess.
Originally, after we obtained permanent legal guardianship,
I had to insist on her coming to see our princess. We had
agreed on Tuesdays to come visit. (after she originally
picked Wednesday’s, then had to change because of
“date night”, which was more important than coming to see
her daughter.
That happened for a while, than she would miss some visits,
then off and on for the first 2 years. She had many
excuses why she couldn’t come. We were also more
than flexible to change the day when she was going to
school, we changed the day when she got a job, or
whenever she asked to change.
Than come February 2011, she just didn’t show up anymore.
No calls, no emails, no nothing. We had heard she had her
baby in mid-March, but no communication from her directly.
Not until late March did we get an email saying she had
her baby and she would let me know when she could
come see our princess.
From there, we received excuse after excuse that she
couldn’t come. I heard she did go back to work for a
short time, then got fired. She sat home for days,
weeks, and months, but couldn’t find the time to come
visit our princess.
I might receive an email every 2 months or so asking why
we won’t let her see her daughter. I keep telling her that
we need to know which dates work for her as our schedule
is busy. And yet, we never receive dates that work for her.
And again, it’s all my fault she can’t see our princess.
Now she tells us she has a full time job and goes to school
full time, so she can’t find time to come visit. But sends me
nasty emails saying I am trying to keep her daughter away
from her. SERIOUSLY!!
Than she tries to say that my son is living with us that’s why
I won’t let her come visit. I told her I refuse to talk to her about
my son since she has a restraining order against my son,
so I can’t discuss him with her.
She can only come either every other weekend or the
opposite Friday. We are very busy on weekends and
I don’t think we should have to give up our busy weekends
because she couldn’t say she wanted Tuesday’s off to
come see her daughter. I would be more than flexible
on week days, when we can, but weekends just DO NOT
work for us. As it is, we have a busy schedule during
the week as well do to classes after work, let alone
give up our busy weekends.
I am once again waiting for dates that work for her to
come visit. NOT holding my breath on those dates.
It’s been over 9 months, can’t imagine she is getting
on those dates too quick. Which is my fault for some
odd reason.
We do not have to let her see our princess at all, there is no
court ordered visitation, but we think it’s the right thing to
do is to let our princess see her birth mother. But if all we do
is get blamed and harassed about it, all further communication
can be through our attorney.
I am over going through all of this crap when all we ever
wanted is to do what was in our princess’ best interest.

So, for the past week, my little princess has been sick. She
has a horrible cold. Runny nose, cough, and sneezing. After
a week of this, she starts with the icky goopy eyes. I thought
she may have pink eye, so I took her into urgent care.
The physician assistant (PA) comes in the room, our princess was
sitting on her chair. The PA asks how she is doing, I go to answer,
and of course my princess says, “I have a cold”. The PA asked
her how long she was sick, my princess pipes right up, “about a
week”. The PA asked if her ears hurt, “nope” said my princess.
No matter what question she asked, my princess answered
pretty much all on her own. You never would think she was only
3 years old.
The PA gave my princess a mask so she didn’t cough all over
and spread germs. At first, she hated it, but then, she just
loved it. She wore at the doctor’s office, the car on the
way home, all night at home. The next day, she went to
the sitters and had to wear her mask. She didn’t want me
to throw it away, she has to put it on every now and then,
she just loves it, thinks it’s the coolest thing that she looks
like a doctor.
The PA said she has a bad virus. She did give some eye drops
for the goopy eyes my princess has.
We went to put in the drops, which my princess has no clue
what to expect. After she was laying down on the bathroom
counter, she discovered how the drops work and wasn’t real
thrilled. I had to PRY those little eyes open to get the drops
in. Thank goodness I only had to put drops in twice a day,
because if I had to pry them open more than that, I don’t
think I could have done it.
After just 3 days of drops, her eyes are MUCH better!!
I can’t say the same for the runny nose or coughing, but
the eyes look SO much better.

Recipe:
Garlic Knots:
3 to 4 cloves garlic, chopped fine.
2-3 tablespoons butter-melted
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil leaves
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
1 can (11 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated original breadsticks
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1. Heat oven to 375°F. In small microwavable bowl, microwave garlic, butter and oil on High 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Stir in basil and parsley; set aside.
2. Unroll dough; separate into 12 breadsticks. Twist and tie each breadstick into a “knot-like” ball; place in ungreased 9-inch round cake pan.
3 Spoon butter-herb mixture evenly over top of each knot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
4 Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
(You can replace the fresh herbs with 1/2 teaspoon each of dried basil leaves and parsley flakes. Grated Parmesan cheese can also be sprinkled on the rolls before baking)

Our little princess started preschool a few weeks ago.
She was a little nervous, but was so excited to start.
I dropped her off on her first day, we were the first ones to
arrive. We took her extra clothes, a special blanket, and her
little stuffed raccoon and put it in a little cubbie with her
name on it. She knew to hang her jacket on the hook below
her cubbie.
She checked out her class room, she found a lot of toys that
were right up her alley. Dolls, a little kitchen, desks, and
so much more. She wasn’t quite so nervous after she
saw her class room.
Her teacher showed her the bathroom in the classroom. She
laughed right out loud. “Mama, look at the little potty”, she
said. She was right. It looked like a normal toilet, but it was a
mini toilet for little kids. The cutest little thing! Outside of the
little toilet room was a mini sink for the little kids to wash
their hands. She wanted to use the little potty right away,
so she did. She came out and was told she had to wash her
hands while singing her ABC’s. She did and thought it was pretty
cool.
I had to leave for the day for work, I asked our princess for
a hug and kiss, she ran over, gave me a hug and kiss and
said “good-bye mommy”, then ran back in the class room.
When my husband picked her up, she was so excited to
tell him about her day. She made a bat hat for Halloween.
It is SO cute. I almost forget what it was like to
get homemade little pieces of art work from a little one.
She has gone now for a week and has done SO well. Her
teacher is real impressed with how smart our princess is.
She knows her ABC’s, counts to 30, counts to 10 in
Spanish, knows all her colors, how to spell her name, her
address, and so much more. A very bright little girl!!
I can’t wait to see how well she does and how much more
she will learn. She is such a special little girl!!

This past week was Halloween. Our princess wasn’t sure
what she wanted to dress up as. She was a skunk last year
and wanted to dress as a skunk again this year.

On one of my shopping trips, I found a cute crushed pink
velvet dress and some princess wings. I picked them up,
just in case she would want to go as a princess.
The day before Halloween, I asked our princess what she
wanted to be for Halloween, she said a skunk. I told her that
I have an outfit if she wanted to be a princess. She was
in shock! “really mama?” I said “yes, a beautiful princess”.
She was SO excited. “Do you think I can see the outfit?”
So I pulled out the princess outfit, she tried it on and got
even more excited. She just loved it. “Mama, do you think
I can be the princess for Halloween?” I asked her if she
was sure she didn’t want to be the skunk. “Yes, mama, I
would LOVE to be a princess”.
I came home early from work on Monday, our princess ran and
met me at the door. “mama, can I put my costume one yet?”
I could barely get in the door, she was so excited to get
dressed to go trick or treating. So we put her costume on
and went throughout our neighborhood trick or treating.
She had a blast! She didn’t want to stop, even when it was
over. She ended up getting 1 huge pumpkin bucket full of
candy.
So, overall, Halloween 2011 was a huge success.

It was really cold and windy this past weekend, but we
promised our little princess a trip to the pumpkin farm.
We decided to all go together, so we met our daughter,
our other granddaughter, and future son-in-law at their
house, then off to the pumpkin farm we went.
We got to the farm, there was a big field where we could
pick our own pumpkins or go up to the farm house to get
what was already picked. Well, our little princess wanted
no part of getting pumpkins that someone else picked.
We started out to the field, we walked the entire field a
few times because she couldn’t find the right one. I would
say, “is this the one?”, she would say no, we did this
numerous times. She had to find just the right one.
After about 20 minutes, we had picked 2 big ones, 2
medium ones, and 2 small ones. She really didn’t like the
ones we picked, so I told her if she didn’t like them, she
had to pick her own, but it had to be quick. She finally
picked out the smallest pumpkin in the field and said, “mama,
this is the perfect pumpkin for me”.
We walked up to the barn and checked out all the hay bales,
she wanted to climb on them, but it was cold and windy so
we decided to just go on to our next destination…. shopping!
Off to Fleet Farm we go………..
She LOVES to go to Fleet Farm. All we heard for 30 miles is,
“are we going to Fleet Farm?”, “are we?”, “well, are we?” YES,
princess, we are going. We were at Fleet Farm for about 30
minutes, and were ready to leave and she became SO upset,
“we can’t leave Fleet Farm, this is my favorite place”. She was
sad we had to leave. She would spend the entire day there. They
have all of these mounted animals on the walls, tigers, elephants, bears, deer, and etc. I guess it’s the place to be, atleast according
to our princess. I think she takes after her Papa. He likes going
to the “man’s mall” too.
